Einar was former CEO of EWOS and has deep knowledge and experience in the aquaculture industry. At Protix he helps shape the long-term vision and future of the aquaculture segment. The aquaculture industry is a global industry and renowned for its efficiency and R&D driven growth. Farmed fish is known for its nutritional value and low-footprint production however it remains dependent on high-quality proteins to feed the fish. Often those proteins are derived from wild caught fish or concentrated soy. This is unsustainable and there is already short-term pressure on supply. How Protix can become embedded in the global aquaculture industry as a reliable supplier of high-quality nutrition is a key question Protix has been working on and investing in. Einar is a key advisor in doing the right things well.
Creating an industry is no easy task. It demands innovation on all aspects. From biology to technology to regulation. At nascency, Protix had to fight the regulatory front as well. There were 5 legal barriers for the category to even exist. That didn’t hold us back. Together with Bert Pauli we developed views and pathways to deregulate the industry. From writing a paper on the needed roadmaps and market deregulations to being present at the right places in Brussels and the Hague. After major successes in the period 2013-2019 he has continued his role as special advisor to Protix. He supports our development mainly in the areas of municipal interests, National and European regulatory and subsidy agendas and general stakeholder management.
